Puerto de Santa María is easy to reach by motorway and well connected with other Andalusian towns of interest. One day trips to the surrounding area are very easy to do: Sevilla; Jerez; Cádiz; Málaga; Granada or Huelva.

Sevilla is only one hour drive from El Puerto de Santa María, a town where one can visit many very impressive monuments like the Torre del Oro or la Giralda as well as the Island of Cartuja. We advise you to visit the feria in April, however it is not ideal to go there during the summer month of July and August, as it is going to be way too hot. On the way to Sevilla, you will be passing by Jerez de la Frontera, which has a great and worldknon feria of the horse.

However, if there is a town, which you should not miss seeing, than this is Cadiz, a beautiful town full of important sites and with the most important carnival of Spain. Going to Cadiz, you will visit the La Caleta beach, also known as the “little Havanna” as part of the James Bond movie with Halle Berry and Pierce Brossnan was shot there.
Another place to fisit is Huelva, a province of great enchantment, excellent beaches and places whre you can rest and relax completely. Huelvo is good food and lots of relax…

Also a nice change is to visit some places on the Costa del Sol, like Marbella with its luxurious Marina Puerto Banus or Estepona, or if you are looking for a good golf course go to Valderrama, one of the best golf courses of the world, bordering on the province of Cadiz with the province of Malaga. La Costa del Sol has many lovely corners which you should see for its beauty and glamour: Puerto Banús, Puerto Marina in Benalmádena...

There are many of the white villages which are more than worth a visit like Vejer de la Frontera or towns like Tarifa, places where water sports like kite- and windsurf , or surf are part of life. Don’t miss out on seeing other interesting places in the province of Cadiz like Conil and its beaches, the enchanting Zahara de los Atunes and the fantastic beaches of Costa Ballena. A sunset in the beach of the los Alemanes in Zahara de los Atunes or in Conil will leave you with best memories.

There are some more location, somewhat more distance, but nevertheless worth an unforgettable visit like the Costa Tropical in Granada province, where we’d like to emphasise its capital and its alambra or further still the province of Almeria, with the Cabo de Gata which is part of the Tabernas desert.

If you leave Andalusia to the west, you can go and check out Mucia or the more touristy locations of the Valenciana community, as it may be Benidorm or Alicante, however, these excusions are less advised as alon the travelling will induce several hours.

An interesting trip may be to Morroco. From the El Puerto de Santa María to Tangiers it is a two hours ride.
