Speaking of culture in El Puerto de Santa Maria is speaking of great writers, of monuments, of music, of all kinds of artists, speaking of Puerto de Santa María is speaking of a town with arts. Of the monuments in Puerto de Santa Maria we can fist of all extract the place of discovery of El Aculadero, dating back to the Paleolitical period or the findings of Doña Blanca, which is originally Phoenician. It is a impressive building in the Bahía de Cádiz reflecting Phoenician influences.
From the Musulman area we like to point out the Castillo de San Marcos and as from the Reconquition to our times, there are monuments like Plaza de Toros of El Puerto; the Convent del Espíritu Santo, of the 15th Century; the antique stock exchange of El Puerto, of the 18th Century; the Vaporcito, which unites Cádiz and Puerto de Santa Maria and the Ermita de Santa Clara.
