As a fishing port town, the main dishes here are seafood. El Puerto is very well known for its shellfish - it’s superb. The surrounding countryside provides a wide variety of ingredients, including: asparagus, figs, and melons, which are all incorporated into the menus.

Check out the harbour at lunchtime (one - four) or in the evening (after nine). This is when it really comes to life. There are tons of restaurants and tapas bars to choose from.

Romerijo is a favourite. They serve a wide variety of fresh fish. It’s sold by weight. They then cook and serve your selection to you. It’s always delicious.
